Mike Zahara

Mike is currently a U12 girls head coach for Plymouth Youth Soccer as well as the U13 head coach for the South Shore Stingrays Club. He joined the Stingrays in April of 2009. He also created the Cobras indoor teams which compete in both premier and open divisions at the JunglePlex during the winter months.

He began coaching at the age of 18 for the town of Wareham in 1992. Mike coached a coed U8 team, U10/U12 and U14 boys teams from 1992-2000 for Wareham. In 2001 Mike and his family moved to Orlando, FL. While living in Orlando he coached U9/U12 girls teams and U11/U12 boys teams for the East Orange Soccer Club. Mike and his family returned home in 2008 and he began coaching for Plymouth Youth Soccer.

Mike is a proud product of Plymouth Youth Soccer from the age of 6 through his freshman year of high school at Plymouth South High. From there his parents moved to Wareham where he attended Upper Cape Regional High School in Bourne and graduated. He was a strong defensive player and helped lead his U14 Plymouth Youth team to the Coastal Youth Soccer League final. While in high school he was captain of the varsity team in grades 10-12. He was also voted MVP of the All Star game all three years as a defender. Mike also played for the Taunton Eagles Club from 1990-1992 as a defender and played indoor for the Pop-Top's, a team out of Taunton.

Mike currently resides in Plymouth with his wife Robin and their three children: Corri-Anne 15, Jordan 12 and Zachary 8 — all of whom are soccer players themselves.

Mike is currently working towards getting his MYSA coaching licenses and becoming a certified referee.
