Joe Murphy
Joe Murphy is currently coaching the Stingrays Under 10 Boys A team. This is Joe's third year with the club and second year as the coach of the U10 Boys A team.
Joe started playing organized soccer at the age of 7 and has played ever since. He is a graduate of Plymouth South High School and played Varsity soccer as a starting member on some the school's most successful teams. He played collegiate soccer at the College of St. Joseph in Vermont and was a four year starter. He was also the youngest elected team captain in the school's history. His years at St. Joseph's were met with solid success as the team qualified for the regional tournament for the first time in school history.
After college Joe began his coaching and referee career. He is currently a certified USFR and USISL referee, and refereed at the old Plymouth Sports Dome. Joe has also refereed at the South Shore Sports Center. He has refereed ages ranging from Under 8 to men. In 2002 Joe coached the Plymouth South Boys Junior Varsity. The following year he was hired as a 7th grade social studies teacher at Plymouth South Middle School where he works today. Since that time he has coached the girls soccer team at P.S.M.S., and has also been a camp councilor at Advantage Soccer School Carver and Scituate. Joe has also coached at High School Team Week at PSHS and SLRH for Boys and Girls respectively.
Joe holds a MYSA coaches license and is pursuing advanced licenses.
